GBSPF Marks 18 Years of Service; Incoming Leadership Commits to Strategic Transformation and Community Development
Dhaka, 15 May 2026. The Gulshan-Banani Sarbojanin Puja Foundation (GBSPF) held its 10th Annual General Meeting on Friday evening 15 May 2026 at Gulshan Club, Dhaka.
The programme opened with a recitation from the Holy Gita. The General Secretary presented the annual report, which was discussed and approved by general members. The Auditor’s Report was subsequently placed before the meeting and approved.
Distinguished Guests
Distinguished guests who addressed the gathering included Shri Bijon Kanti Sarkar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, for Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and Ethnic Minority Affairs; Shri Tapan Chandra Muzumder, Vice Chairman of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust; and A. B. M. Abdus Sattar, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Shri Jayanta Kumar Deb, President of the Mahanagar Sarbojanin Puja Committee, and Shri Basudev Dhar, President of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, also spoke at the meeting.
Speaking as Chief Guest, A. B. M. Abdus Sattar assured the gathering that the Government is firmly committed to working for the welfare of the entire Hindu community in Bangladesh. He stated that every member of the community has the right to live in this country with peace, dignity and happiness, and that the Government will stand by that commitment.

The Election Commission presented the new Executive Council for the 2026-2028 two-year term, which was approved by the General Meeting.

The newly elected President and General Secretary addressed the gathering following the election. Both thanked the members of the Foundation for placing their trust in them and expressed commitment to working collectively with all members toward the transformation of the Foundation. They outlined their intent to focus on strategic initiatives that serve the community and contribute to the growth and development of the country.
